TELARM is the software used to read, edit and load the settings of the Tavrida Electric RC5 control. It connects over USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or the Internet, and requires settings to be approved before they are loaded to the device.
What TELARM is
TELARM is the Tavrida Electric software for its recloser controls. With it you read and edit protection settings, view time-current curves, download records and operate the recloser. This guide describes the flow for the RC5 control of Rec15 and Rec25 reclosers. For the full equipment, see Tavrida Rec15, Rec25 and RC5 control.
How it connects
| Route | What it needs |
|---|---|
| USB | USB cable from the PC to the front-panel port and the RC driver installed |
| RS-232 | Serial port of the relay module |
| Bluetooth | BTM mode enabled on the control screen and an adapter on the PC |
| Ethernet | Twisted-pair or fibre cable; IP address and port of the control |
| Wi-Fi | The control in access-point mode, with network name and password |
| Internet | TELARM Dispatcher interface: server with a fixed IP, certificate and external modem |
In every case the TELARM model imported for the project is needed: the scheme with the network’s reclosers.
What can be done
Once connected, TELARM lets you upload and download settings, trip, close, switch protection or an individual element on and off, and synchronize date and time. Trip and close commands ask for confirmation. Over the local connection you can operate only with the control in Local mode; over the remote interface only in Remote mode. On connection, the system status and records download automatically.
How the settings flow works
- The settings are downloaded from the control. They appear in grey and cannot be edited.
- They are edited in the model in the TELARM database, per protection group. The curve can be viewed with the TCC button.
- The settings are marked ready and then approved.
- Only then are they loaded to the control.
Settings can also be changed from the control’s local screen, but changes made on the PC must be loaded to take effect.
Precautions
- After a control firmware update, settings may change. Check protection, communications and system settings before returning to service.
- Check the measurement coefficients (wire-to-terminal connection) against the transformer ratio. At commissioning, with the line energized and the recloser open, the negative-sequence voltage must be below 1 kV; if not, the software phase sequence does not match the line.
- Back up the current settings before changing anything.
How we help
We configure Tavrida recloser controls remotely: you connect an Internet-enabled computer to the control and we do the rest, with a backup before and after. See remote configuration for reclosers.

Frequently asked questions
How does TELARM connect to the RC5 control?
Over USB (front port), the relay module RS-232, Bluetooth, Ethernet with TCP/IP, Wi-Fi as an access point, or remotely over the Internet through the TELARM Dispatcher interface.
Can the recloser be operated from TELARM?
Yes, after a confirmation prompt. Over a local connection only in Local mode; over the remote interface only in Remote mode.
Why does TELARM ask for settings to be marked as approved?
Because only settings marked ready and then approved can be loaded to the control. It is a barrier against loading an unfinished file.
