Our core service

Remote protective relay configuration

Your relays, configured remotely. Our team configures the protection, control and communications of your substation or plant remotely: new devices that arrive blank from the factory, or changes to equipment already in service, without waiting for an engineer to travel to site.

What your operation gains

No travelSetting changes that used to require a site visit are done from our office.
Fast responseIn an emergency we give priority to reviewing the event records and tell you what happened.
Everything backed upWe keep a copy of every relay configuration before and after each change.
Secure and traceableEncrypted access, only with your authorization, and a log of who changed what and when.

What we configure

Everything programmable in the substation, not just the relays.

Protective relays and reclosers

Protective relays and recloser controls: settings, elements, curves, trip and reclosing logic, event reports and oscillography.

Control

Bay controllers, interlocking, local and remote commands, switching sequences and programmable logic.

Communications

IEC 61850 (GOOSE and MMS), IEC 60870-5-104 and -101, DNP3 (IEEE 1815), Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP, gateways, RTUs and switches, with point lists to SCADA.

Secondary engineering

Implementation of the project's P&C design in the devices: signals, alarms, metering and communications architecture.

From scratch or on what you already have

We work with the brands most used in utilities and industry, such as SEL, Siemens, Hitachi Energy (ABB), GE, Schneider Electric, NOJA Power and Eaton, among many others. Tell us the brand and model of your device and we will confirm that we have the software and the experience to configure it.

Blank devicesNew equipment without configuration, left ready according to the project design and the approved settings.
ModificationsChanges to equipment in service: new settings, additional signals, bay extensions or logic updates.

What we can do remotely

  • Complete configuration of new protection, control and communications devices, including recloser controls
  • Setting changes approved by your utility or by your protection coordination study
  • Implementation of the secondary (P&C) design: signals, alarms, logic and interlocking
  • IEC 61850 networks, gateways and RTUs, and point lists to SCADA
  • Download and analysis of event reports and oscillography after a trip
  • Periodic configuration backups and comparison against the approved version
  • Online support to your field crew during testing and commissioning

How it works

  1. We set up secure access

A dedicated communications device at the substation, with an encrypted connection under your control.

  2. You authorize each intervention

You request the change or report the event, and access is opened only for that task.

  3. We configure, verify and report

We apply the change, check the result and send you the report with the configuration backup.

Frequently asked questions

Which devices can be configured remotely?

Protective relays, recloser controls, bay controllers, RTUs, gateways and switches from most commercial brands, as long as they communicate over Ethernet or over a serial port with a converter. Each manufacturer uses its own software, so before each job you tell us the brand and model and we confirm availability.

Can you configure a new device that arrives blank?

Yes. With the device connected to the substation network, we load the complete configuration from scratch, based on the project design and the approved settings.

Is it safe to open remote access to a substation?

Access is encrypted, never left open to the internet and enabled only with your authorization. Every session is logged.

Does it replace on-site testing?

No. Commissioning and secondary injection tests are done on site by your crew or your local contractor, and we can support them online. Our own field testing is available in Colombia, or elsewhere on request.

Where do you work from, and in which languages?

Our team works from Bogotá, Colombia (UTC−5), for clients worldwide, in English and Spanish. We agree each work window with you in your local time.

Stop waiting for site visits to change your relay settings.

Tell us how many substations you have and which relays you use, and we will propose how to connect them.
